Today you will complete a Pixlr project inserting an object from one picture into the background of another picture. You want to make the insertion look as natural as possible. You will need to open two pictures to complete this. One will need to include a person, animal, or other object to be inserted into the background of the other picture. Today you will complete a Pixlr project inserting an object from one picture into the background of another picture. You want to make the insertion look as natural as possible. You will need to open two pictures to complete this. One will need to include a person, animal, or other object to be inserted into the background of the other picture. - From your Google Drive, open Pixlr Editor. To do this click on New, then More, then Pixlr Editor. If you do not have Pixlr connected to your Google Drive watch the video on connecting Pixlr to your Google Drive to see how to do that.
- Once you have found your two pictures open each file in Pixlr separately.
- In the picture with the object you will be inserting, double click the picture of the lock to unlock the background layer.
- Click on the Layer Name in the Layer Window. Drag the layer name from the Layers Window into you picture with your background.
- Use Free Transform on the Edit Menu to resize this layer for to be proportional to the background layer.
- Use the Lasso Tool to trace around the object you want to appear in the final image.
- Apply a Layer Mask to cut away all other parts of the layer with your object in it.
- Use the Move Tool to place the object where you want to place it in your background.
- Once you are finished, save the file to your Google Drive.
- Once your are ready to turn your project in, make sure you have saved your project to your Google Drive. Turn it in for grading by adding it to your assignment in Google Classroom. Watch the video on submitting your Pixlr Assignments.

- Find an image on Google or from your own files. The picture you use needs one object in it that you can clone to another place in the photo. Make sure to follow Fair Use procedures.
- Save the original to your Google Drive. You will turn this in with the finished project at the end of the assignment.
- Use the Clone Stamp Tool (look like a brown stamp on the left-hand side) to duplicate an object on this picture. Be careful to make it look as natural as possible. The video will show you how to use this.
- Once you are finished, save the file to your Google Drive.
- Once your are ready to turn your project in, make sure you have saved your project to your Google Drive. Turn it in for grading by adding it to your assignment in Google Classroom. Watch the video on submitting your Pixlr Assignments.
