Today you will be learning internet research skills to help you complete your social studies project for Mrs. Huntington. Follow these steps.
- Open the document titled "Internet Research Sheet" from the folder with your name on it on the U: drive.
- Open google.com.
- Type your first question in the google search box.
- When you get a list of results, click on one of the web links to open that site.
- Read through the web site you open to find answers to your question. You may find answers to more than one question on the same web page.
- Type notes on you Internet Research Sheet. Remember that for your poster you need to type your information in your own words. So, your notes should be in your own words as well.
- Copy and paste the URL next to the spot that asks for your source web site. It's the long text in the white box near the top of your browser that looks something like this: http://www.infoplease.com/spot/kwanzaa1.html.
- You can also go to http://www.ipl.org/ and type your questions in the search box on this page.
- Make sure you remember to save your document before you log off the computer at the end of the day. You can also print up a copy of your note sheet at the end of the day to work on it at home.
- You will need to complete all six questions and include a source page in order to get full credit on this assignment.
