Formatting a Document in Google Docs

For the next few classes, we will work on formatting a document in Google Docs. Follow these steps. The video below will show you how to use the Google Draw to insert things like a text box (step 12) and word art (step 14) into your document.
- Open the "Google Docs Assignment" file Google Classroom.
- Click "Edit" Menu
- Click "Select All"
- Change Line Spacing to 1.5
- On Line Spacing menu click "Add Line After Paragraph."
- The phrase highlighted in red is your title. Highlight the whole line. Center it. Change font to Comic Sans. Change font size to 14. Make it bold.
- Change font of the yellow-highlights paragraph to Times New Roman, size 12. There is also a misspelled word in this paragraph with a red squiggly line under it. Correct the spelling error by right-clicking (two finger tap of the touch pad on Chromebooks) on the word and select the correct spelling from the suggestions at the top of the pop-up menu.
- Make the five lines highlighted in blue bullet points.
- Change the paragraph highlighted in light blue to Pacifico, size 16. Remember, if Pacifico is not on your list of fonts, you can click on to "More Fonts..." to get a larger list of font options.
- Change the green-highlighted paragraph font color to red. Change Alignment to right aligned.
- The paragraph after the green-highlighted paragraph has no highlight color. Change the font highlight color to light blue. Change alignment to justified.
- Copy the purple-highlighted sentence into a text box. To do this use "drawing" on the "insert" menu to create your text box.
Make the text box as follows:
- red, dotted, 4 px line around the box.
- make the fill color light grey
- make the text Georgia, size 14 font
- once the box is inserted change it to "wrap text."
- move the text box to a place along the right margin of the document. - Insert a picture of Forest Gump. Use the search feature on "insert," "image" to find your picture. (Hint: use one of the first four search results.) Once your picture is inserted, make it "wrap text" and place it somewhere along the left margin of your document.
- Use "insert" "drawing" to add the word "RESPECT" as word art to the bottom of your document.
- Once you have finished, click Turn In to turn in your project.
