Using the state or Canadian province you are studying for your Social Studies project, use LucidPress to create a travel magazine for your state/province. Feature different sights people should see when they visit. You have three class periods to finish this. A good place to find information for this project is from the tourism website for your state/province.
- Pick-up a "Magazine Planning Sheet" from Mr. Longard to organize your thoughts.
- Open Google Drive on your computer.
- From Google Drive, create a new LucidPress file.
- Select a Magazine template for your project.
- You will only need 6 pages for your assignment. Delete any excess pages.
- Page 1 will be the cover. Include the following items on your cover page:
- Make a large and creative title for your magazine. You may want to use the warp, text shadow, or text outline settings to jazz it up.
- Use a text box to put your name on the front cover in smaller font
- Find a picture to place on your cover that illustrates what your magazine is about. - Page 2 is your table of contents page.
- Draw a two-column table to make an "Inside This Issue" table.
- Include two pictures on this page. - Pages 3 - 5 are your main article pages.
- Include 2 - 3 pictures on each page.
- Include 1 - 2 small text boxes on each page with short profiles of different sights to see.
- At least one page should include a 3 bullet point "quick facts" box of "must see" places. - Page 6 is your back cover. Include two large pictures and a catchy slogan.
- Once you are finished, add to the Google Classroom assignment and turn in.
